Kay Elaine Gourley
Kay was born and raised in Austin where real estate runs deep in her family roots. When Kay was a youngster her mother would pile Kay and her brother in the back seat of the “Lime Green Buick Machine” on Sundays and off they would go on "Open House Adventures".
When I bought my first house, Kay was able to walk me through the process in a way I could easily understand. During the home search, I learned more about what I liked and didn’t like. Kay patiently listened to my evolving criteria and helped find the perfect house for me!
Kay first worked in her brother’s real estate firm as the administrative assistant before obtaining her real estate license in 1996. During this time Kay developed a love and understanding for architecture and all the lines and curves which go hand-in-hand with refurbishing a client’s home. Along the way, Kay developed a keen sense of how to navigate clients through sometimes complicated purchases and keep them focused on the end prize - the home of their dreams. In 2003 Kay received her Broker’s license and opened a small real estate firm in central Austin.
Growing up in Austin Kay did not escape the music bug; she feels privileged to have experienced Austin’s most iconic past and present live music venues and honored to know some of Austin’s finest in the business. Over the years Kay assisted the Irish delegation to SXSW and became very knowledgeable as to their needs on both sides of the pond. This knowledge led her to a job opportunity in Dublin, Ireland in 2010 as Director of a music management company. Kay also consulted for tech start-ups with platforms for musicians in e-commerce and live streaming. Kay coordinated the launch of these start-ups with SXSW Interactive which received high accolades.
I loved in Austin
- The Clash at Austin City Coliseum
- Bobby Blue Bland at Antone’s
- The Ramones at Backroom
- Iggy Pop & Burning Spear at Liberty Lunch
- Damien Rice at Bass Concert Hall
After 4 years in Dublin, Kay dearly missed working in her beloved vocation of real estate...as much as Kay loved chasing rainbows and strolling the lush green fields of Ireland she longed to do what she does best – sell real estate!
Kay is a member of the Alzheimer’s Foundation. She has lost two family members to Alzheimers and Dementia, so this cause is very dear to her heart. She looks forward to volunteering with Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM) and currently serves on the Finance Committee with Travis County Democrats. Kay lives in the Shoal Creek area with her son Seamus, who attends her alma mater McCallum High School, and their Japanese Chin doggie, Sushi and their cat Toby.
